Privacy Policy
The short version: Tappy Halloween has no accounts, no sign-ups, no ads, and no tracking. We never ask for your name, email, or anything else about you. The game keeps your progress on your device. The only data that leaves your device is anonymous — how many people play, in roughly which countries, and crash reports so we can fix bugs.
What we collect
We use Google Firebase for two things:
- Anonymous analytics — events like "a game was played", "a door was opened", or "a costume pack was bought". These come with your device model, operating system version, app version, a coarse region derived from your IP address (country/city level, never precise location), and a random identifier created for your installation of the app. None of it identifies you personally.
- Crash reports — if the game crashes, a technical report (what the code was doing, your device model and OS version) is sent so we can fix it.
This data is processed by Google on our behalf. You can read Google's privacy documentation at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
What we don't collect
- No name, email address, contacts, photos, or precise location.
- No advertising — the game contains no ads and no ad networks.
- No tracking across other apps or websites, and no advertising identifiers — on Android the app switches off Advertising ID collection in Firebase, and on iOS it never asks for tracking permission.
- We never sell data. There is nothing to sell.
Game progress
Your candy, doors, costumes, high scores, and settings (sound, music, language) are stored only on your device. If you delete the app, they're gone (we can't restore them — we never had them).
Purchases
Costume packs and tips are processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. Purchase receipts are used only to deliver what you bought and to restore previous purchases — including purchases made in the original 2015 release.
Sharing your score
The share button hands a short message and a picture of your score to your device's own share sheet. Where it goes from there — a message, a social app, nothing at all — is between you and that app. Nothing about it is sent to us.
Leaderboards and achievements
If you choose to sign in to Game Center (Apple) or Google Play Games, your scores and achievements are submitted to that service under your player profile. This is optional, and it's governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policy — we only receive the anonymised player identifier the platform gives us.
Children
Tappy Halloween is a silly, spooky game suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included. There are no chat features, no external links inside the game, and no ads.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR in Europe or CCPA in California), you may have rights to access or delete data. Because our analytics are anonymous, we usually cannot connect any data to you — but if you have a question or a request, contact us and we'll do our best to help. Analytics data is retained by Firebase for a limited period (currently up to 14 months) and then deleted automatically.
Changes
If we ever change how the game handles data, we'll update this page and the effective date above before the change ships.
